To walk obliges us to sharpen our senses, it forces us to
look where we walk. It transforms itself into an active meditation. In this
work I gathered different issues which are important to me. The idea of the
self and the other, the inner and the outer, the here and there. Seen from
behind without revealing their identities during almost all the video, these
two characters walk in different environments. The man walks in a city and
the woman walks on the countryside. Everything is doubled. The city noise and
the sound of the countryside, the two synchronized looped videos, the two
main protagonists. The only moment that their identities are revealed is at
the beginning where through cross fading both images, both exist on both screens
as if they had met at a certain point. During the rest of the piece one may
think that they are walking towards each other but this expectation is undermined.
The wanderers always stay separated never reaching a destination forever walking
about.
